Job Title: Advance Practice Nurse (NP)
Location: Hammonton NJ 08037
Duration: 6 Months to Long Term
Shift Hours: 08:15 am- 04:15 pm (Mon to Fri)
Job Description:
• Admissions, Medical care of patients which includes, Physical assessment, health maintenance of inpatient psychiatric population, TX planning, and member of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Medical care of patients which includes, Physical assessment and tx prescription for inpatient psychiatric population
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments to evaluate patients' mental health status, including their emotional, cognitive, and behavioral functioning.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients' unique needs, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic modalities.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring their efficacy and adjusting dosages as necessary.
• Provide counseling and psychotherapy to patients and their families, utilizing various therapeutic approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and motivational interviewing.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists, to coordinate care and ensure holistic treatment.
• Educate and support patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, medication management, and coping strategies.
• Conduct crisis interventions and provide emergency psychiatric care to patients experiencing acute distress or exhibiting suicidal or self-harming behaviors.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, interventions, and progress notes.
• Stay current with advancements in psychiatric nursing through continued education and professional development, attending conferences and workshops, and staying informed about research and best practices.
• Advocate for patients' rights and promote mental health awareness within the community, participating in outreach programs and initiatives.
Desired skills:
• Experience in Adult Health
Knowledge, skills, education, and/or experience:
• Current and valid certification as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, issued by the New Jersey Board of Nursing, in that category of advanced practice, adult health
Mandatory skills/certification(s) Requirement:
• Advanced Practice Nursing License, NJ CDS license, USA DEA Registration, ANCC Certificate.
