Position: Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) (Contract)
Location: La Paz Regional Hospital and affiliated clinics
Pay Rate: $78-$100/hour
Contract Duration: 13 weeks (starting 02/17/2025)
Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts (Monday through Thursday; Fridays off)
Job Summary
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide patient-centered care. The role emphasizes health maintenance, disease prevention, patient education, and counseling. The NP/PA will work under the direct supervision of a physician, following established guidelines and operating within the defined scope of practice. The position may require occasional work at other hospital-owned clinics or the main hospital facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history reviews and physical examinations.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs.
- Educate patients and families on health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic condition management.
- Collaborate with supervising physicians and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
- Facilitate referrals within the medical staff network, following organizational guidelines.
Referral Guidelines
In support of our client's mission to ensure continuity and quality of care:
- Providers are expected to refer patients within the hospital system unless:
- The patient prefers a different provider.
- The patient’s insurance dictates the provider.
- The referral is not in the patient’s best medical interest, as determined by the provider.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted NP or PA license in Arizona.
- Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C).
- Minimum of two years of experience in primary care or family medicine (preferred).
- Active BLS/ACLS certification.
- Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment
The role requires adaptability, with assignments at various locations, including hospital-owned clinics and the main hospital, based on patient needs and organizational requirements.

Pay: $78.00 - $100.00 per hour
