The University of Missouri's Division of Pulmonology and Critical Care is seeking nurse practitioners or physician assistants interested in joining our team as a provider within our Lung Cancer Screening program.

The candidate in this role will work in an outpatient setting, M-F, 8a - 5p. Extensive training will be provided, so this is an excellent opportunity for nurse practitioners or physician assistants looking for their first opportunity.

To provide health care to patients through the use of the patient care process in collaboration with other health professionals and performing assigned duties in an acute care setting.

  • Obtain and document comprehensive patient health history and perform physical examination, to be countersigned by physician.
  • Order and/or perform pertinent diagnostic tests agreed upon by the physician and analyze collected data in order to determine health status.
  • Monitor patient condition, laboratory values, and results of diagnostic procedures.
  • Collaborate with the physician and other health care professionals in the development of treatment goals and care plans and coordinate services and treatments in order to implement and accomplish these goals and plans.
  • Record all patient data, including history and physical examination, problems identified, intervention provided results of care, and plans for follow-up or referral.
  • Plan, direct, and participate in the education of the patient and their family.
  • Evaluate current research and apply the findings clinically.

Required Qualifications:

  • NP/PA
  • Unencumbered license to practice in MO or ability to secure a license to practice in MO

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in pulmonology
