Overview

CHI Oakes Hospital, is a 20-bed critical access hospital that provides various inpatient and outpatient services to approximately 14,000 people in southeastern North Dakota. It is also a 24-Hour Emergency Level V Trauma Center. The hospital building was newly-constructed in 2007, replacing a 50-year old building, and in 2010, Oakes Community Clinic was opened within the hospital building. The hospital is part of a larger values-based organization, CommonSpirit Health.

  • Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm
  • One Internal Medicine Physician and PRN APP coverage

Responsibilities
  • Patient Care:
    • Diagnose and treat various medical conditions.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
    • Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories.
  • Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
    • Provide clear and concise medical information.
    • Foster a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
    • Document medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
    • Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.
  • Diagnostic Procedures:
    • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging.
    • Perform procedures as needed
    • Collaborate with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
    • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
    • Provide consultative services to other healthcare providers.
  • Quality Improvement:
    • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
    • Review and analyze clinical outcomes for continuous improvement.
    • Implement changes to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Compliance:
    • Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice.
    • Stay informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Participate in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Continuous Learning:
    • Stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices.
    • Participate in ongoing medical education and training.
    • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program or Nurse Practitioner program
  • Board Certified and able to secure an unrestricted ND license and DEA
  • Candidate with ER post graduate experience or ER fellowship encouraged to apply
  • Current BLS, ATLS, ACLS and PALS.
  • New graduates with RN/EMT 5+ years of FT experience in Trauma, Emergency Medicine or ICU encouraged to apply
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

Pay Range
$62.47 - $69.05 /hour
