Job Description:

Nurse Practitioner opening at a busy Orthopedic practice based at McKay-Dee Hosptial and Layton Hospital.

This NP will work independently in an outpatient setting alongside surgical podiatrists. Responsibilities include seeing post-operative patients, holding return office visits, consulting on cases, and occasional rounding with patients in hospital. Common cases include: fractures, total ankle replacements, bunions, hammer toe, at-risk foot care, etc.

This is a full-time, fully benefits-eligible position. We anticipate this provider to work standard working hours (M-F; 8am-5pm), with a potential to work 4x10's. There is no required call time.

An ideal candidate will have prior orthopedic, foot and ankle, and/or wound care experience.

Job Essentials

Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are accountable for the provision of patient care at the top of licensure, within their scope of practice. Licensed, credentialed and privileged to perform such duties as:

  • Maintenance and promotion of health and prevention of disease;
  • Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, correction, and consultation;
  • Procedures as outlined by specialty, and referral for health problems;
  • Education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others;
  • Prescription or administration of prescription drugs or devices in accordance with a consultation and referral plan;
  • Consultation with other healthcare providers;
  • Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care;
  • Continually learning and developing for optimal patient care and outcomes.

Advanced Practice Providers may also participate in research, utilize evidence-based practice to improve quality patient care, protocol development, care process model development, and best practice standards for assigned patient population throughout our organization.
