General Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions.
- Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
- Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and NP specialty.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly.

Minimum Education Requirements:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics).
License & Certifications:
- Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Arizona.
- National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]).
Experience:
- While specific requirements may vary, most locum NP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty.
