  • Oversee the medical care of the patients on a unit ranging from 30-75 Patients on the unit at a time.
  • See approximately 5-15 patients per day for acute illness, injury or follow-up.
  • Available for new admissions which have to be completed within 24 hours of admission
  • Perform clinics in the morning
  • This is with Psych Patients in a state hospital. They will be doing primary care for Psych patients but must be comfortable with Psych patients who have been admitted.
  • Start Date: ASAC about 3-6 weeks.

Qualifications

Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
The Family Practice Nurse Practitioner (RN, FNP-BC) is credentialed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) and authorized to practice as an advance practice registered nurse by the Texas Board of Nursing.
All Practitioners must have a current, unrestricted license in Texas to practice in their respective profession.

Working Hours

Will typically work 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Mon-Fri), but shift pattern is subject to change as determined by the Director to meet needs of the hospital.
