Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
The University of Missouri School of Medicine's Division of Endocrinology, is pleased to announce one opening for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their expanding team, providing medical care in an outpatient setting at the Cosmopolitan International Diabetes & Endocrinology Center.
We will prioritize candidates with experience in Endocrinology, especially in areas of calcium disorders, diabetes or metabolic bone disease. However, this is an excellent opportunity for new NPs and PAs excited to learn a highly in-demand specialty.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide professional medical services to patients of the endocrine clinic.
- Educate and develop treatment plans and goals
- Order diagnostic procedures as needed
- Order labs as needed and review lab values for patients to assist in development of treatment plan
- Prescribe medications as needed.
- Serve as an expert to patients, families, nursing staff and other medical professions in the area of endocrinology.
- Independently provide professional medical support services by collaborating with physicians and other staff to promote a team-based approach to patient care.
- Assist providers with additional patient needs such as explanation to patients of complex lab results, responding to messages, assisting with peer-to-peer calls for patient needs and other more complex provider needs.
- Participate in Endocrine didactics with fellows.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioners:
- Master of Science in Nursing degree.
- Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.
- Must be granted a “Document of Recognition” from the Missouri Board of Nursing.
- Physicians Assistant (PA) licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts.
