Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ER Nurse Practitioner to provide services at the Augusta VA Health Care System.

Location: Augusta VA Health Care System, 950 15th Street, Augusta GA 30901

Job Responsibilities

ER Nurse Practitioner Duties

Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments for patients.
Perform diagnostic evaluations to determine patient conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Administer injections and other treatments as required.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare staff to coordinate patient care.
Participate in utilization review processes to ensure appropriate patient management.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using medical terminology.
Provide education and counseling to patients regarding health maintenance and disease prevention.
Perform suturing and other minor surgical procedures as needed.

Qualifications

ER Nurse Practitioner Qualifications:

License: Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine consistent with training and professional designation in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the US or the District of Columbia.

Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Must also carry certification in emergency medicine or have recent, substantial experience working primarily in an Emergency Department setting of at least 5 years in duration.

Experience: 5 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting

Must be a US Citizen

Working Hours

Schedule: The ED operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year including Federal Holidays. Work shifts are as followed, with no on-call or off-hours coverage. Shift times are subject to change, based on ED volumes and utilization of APPs at the sole discretion of VA management to meet the Veteran care needs.
