The position starts in Summer 2025 and offers full-time, permanent employment.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment & Diagnosis: Perform thorough physical exams and assess patients presenting with a wide range of acute conditions and emergencies.
- Treatment & Care: Provide treatment for minor injuries, acute illnesses, and severe emergencies; administer medications, IV fluids, and injections as necessary.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with Emergency Medicine physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
- EMR Documentation: Accurately document all patient encounters, medical histories, diagnostic results, and treatment plans using the EPIC EMR system.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about conditions, treatment options, home care instructions, and when to seek further medical attention.
- Procedures: Assist in or perform minor procedures like wound care, suturing, and splinting; may assist in more advanced procedures under physician supervision.
- Critical Care Management: Play a role in the stabilization and treatment of critically ill or injured patients, including involvement in resuscitations.
- Discharge Planning: Collaborate with physicians to prepare discharge instructions and ensure that patients are equipped with appropriate follow-up care.
- Consultations & Referrals: Consult with specialists as necessary and refer patients for further care or treatment.
- Team Support: Support department staff, assist with triage, and help maintain efficient department flow, especially during peak times.
