We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide locum tenens coverage in the Emergency Medicine Department in, Wisconsin. The position involves working in a combined Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care setting, offering a variety of patient care experiences. This is a long-term locum opportunity with flexible shifts and an immediate start date in March 2025.

  • Deliver high-quality care in a combined Emergency Medicine/Urgent Care department.
  • Manage a diverse patient population (12-20 patients per shift).
  • Perform medical evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide follow-up care as needed.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including RNs and other healthcare professionals.
  • Use Cerner EMR for documentation and patient management.

Job Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality care in a combined Emergency Medicine/Urgent Care department.
Manage a diverse patient population (12-20 patients per shift).
Perform medical evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide follow-up care as needed.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including RNs and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
Must meet AHA certification requirements (ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS).
Board certification in Emergency Medicine or eligibility is required.
No pending malpractice claims (Marshfield does not accept candidates with unresolved claims).
Minimum of 60 days for credentialing.

Working Hours

Variable shifts, Monday through Sunday.
Scheduled clinical hours only (no on-call requirements).
Coverage across urgent care and emergency medicine settings.

Skills

Expertise in Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care, including rapid patient assessments and effective management of a variety of cases.
Ability to work in a Level II Trauma and Level III Pediatric facility.
Proficient in using Cerner EMR for charting and managing patient information.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working within a dynamic team environment.
