Nurse Practitioner – Emergency Medicine

Location: NorthBay Health

At NorthBay Health, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Emergency Medicine is a key member of the emergency department medical management team. The Nurse Practitioner is a licensed healthcare professional with advanced education and training in emergency medicine services. The NP works independently and collaboratively with the supervising physician, in accordance with standardized protocols and procedures, to deliver high-quality care to patients.

Position Details:

  • Shift: 12-hour shifts
  • Schedule: 4 twelve-hour shifts per Bi-Weekly pay period
  • Position Type: Exempt

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing.

Licensure/Credentials:

  • Current Nurse Practitioner licensure by the State of California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
  • Certified as an NP by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
  • Current DEA license for Schedule II drugs.
  • Current AHA or equivalent certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).

Experience:

  • Experience as a Nurse Practitioner practicing in a related field, or completion of an internship in emergency medicine at NorthBay.

Skills:

  • Demonstrates the ability to evaluate patient’s physical and emotional status.
  • Demonstrates ability to provide patient care based on age-related needs.
  • Demonstrates current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients in the following age groups: adult, adolescent, pediatric, and geriatric.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems, including MS Word and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Cerner is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.

Compensation:

Nurse Practitioner hourly salary range: $82.00 – $100.80

  • Maximum rate is commensurate with 20+ years of NP experience.
  • Offered rate will be based on years of NP experience.
