Emergency Room Nurse Practitioners (NPs) shall provide Direct Patient Care. Estimated 90 – 95% of time is involved in direct patient care.

EMERGENCY ROOM NURSE PRACTITIONER (NP) JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to pass a Government security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Required: Three (3) years experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)
  • Required: Three (3) years experience in outpatient care in an Emergency Department (excludes Urgent Care clinics)
  • Be licensed or otherwise recognized as a Nurse Practitioner in any State
  • Possess a master’s degree from a program accredited by the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
  • Maintain full and current certification as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Association or another nationally recognized certifying body
  • Must hold authorization for prescriptive authority
  • Communicate, understand, read, and write English proficiently
  • Must hold current certifications in American Heart Association Basic Life Support (Bls) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

EMERGENCY ROOM NURSE PRACTITIONER (NP) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sit, stand, walk, talk, or hear.
  • Remain in a stationary position with prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or walking.
  • Move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another.
  • Communicate with others to exchange information (face-to-face, listen, talk, type, etc.).
  • Use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and smell.
  • Use a computer keyboard intermittently, repeating the same movements (using wrists, hands, and fingers).
  • Have the ability to physically move or lift patients and use proper posture to avoid injury.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
  • The noise level in the work environment ranges regularly from quiet to loud.
