Locum Critical Care (Nights) - NP or PA - Pulaski, VA
Looking for someone ASAP!
NPPA to work NIGHT SHIFT, 7 ON/7 OFF from 7pm – 7am; 12 hour shift 7p-7a; cover acute floors (med surg) as well as an 8 bed ICU; desire someone to commit to 7 straight nights
Contract Length: 3 - 6+ months
Night Call Requirement: Nights covered by ACNP/PA; Physician backup
Minimum Shifts Accepted: 7 shifts is the request, but 5-7 shifts minimum
ACLS/ BLS Required
Program Structure: 7 on/7 off; Daytime has 1 doctor each day from 7am – 7pm that works Monday to Sunday; That day doctor is on-call at night for the nighttime NPPA as needed; One daytime NPPA each day that works from 7am – 5pm; Physician provides hand off to the night NPPA. Nocturnist NPPA works 7p-7a and covers the house. The ER responds to rapid response and codes and will do procedures.
Physician Times: 7A - 7P
NP/PA Shift Times: 1 daytime NPPA from 7AM – 7PM; 1 night NPPA from 7PM – 7AM
Hospital Beds: 147 total beds
Average Daily Census: Avg daily census for past 3 months is 14 pts
Open ICU
ICU Beds: 8
# of ICU beds group covers: 8 beds; avg ICU census is 5-6 pts
Special Services: NPPA’s also provide medical co-management for Behavioral Health in the BH unit at night
Backup Specialties: ER assists with rapid response and codes; can assist with intubations and central line placement on both med surg and in ICU
Procedures: All general procedures: MANDATORY: The APP must respond to the codes/rapid responses. APP’s can intubate and perform central lines IF they are qualified but there are no mandatory procedures. Must have experience!
Codes OR Admissions Required: ER responds to rapids and codes
AVG # of Admissions per day/night: Daytime admits are typically 2-4 and night admits are typically 1-2
EMR: Meditech (Orientation includes EMR training)
On Call: NO
