Critical Care Nurse Practitioner
Location: California
Units: SICU, Neuro ICU, CVICU
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care in SICU, Neuro ICU, and CVICU units.
- Manage a daily patient load of 10-16 beds.
- Perform necessary procedures such as central lines and arterial lines.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, critical care fellows, and other healthcare professionals in a co-management model.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and maintain accurate patient records.
Hospital Details:
- Bed Size: 87 beds in the ICU
- Support Staff:
- Day: Attending physician on staff.
- Night: APP only, with attending available at home. Critical care fellow present 24/7. Additional attending physicians available for assistance.
Qualifications:
- Board Certification: Required, either ANCC or AACN certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
- State License: Must have an active State of California license.
- DEA: Required.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENLS (Emergency Neurological Life Support).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred.
Additional Information:
- Credentialing Timeframe: 60 – 90 days.
- Skills Required: Proficiency in performing central lines and arterial lines.
- Work Environment: Open structure critical care, highly collaborative, and co-managed with surgical and neuro services.
