Job Opportunity: NP, Critical Care

Start Date: December 2024
Contract Length: 6 Months

Shift Details:

  • Rotating shifts: day/night
  • Opportunity for straight night shifts available
  • Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm, 6pm-6am)

Work Details:

  • Support Staff: Clinical lead
  • Coverage Needed per Month: 3-12 hour shifts/week
  • Patients per Day: 8-10
  • Patient Population/Age: Medically complex patients, age range 20-100, intercity hospital
  • Department Description: Medical ICU in an intercity level 1 trauma center, caring for medically complex, critically ill patients
  • EMR: Epic
  • Hospital Bed Size: Unit with 38 beds shared ICU with SICU, but only caring for MICU patients
  • Special Procedures: Endotracheal intubation, central line placement, arterial line, chest thoracostomy tube
  • Skills Required: Collaboration with physicians in hospital-based inpatient settings, working with critically ill and injured patients primarily in the ICU or progressive units, including trauma, neonatal, inpatient cardiology, emergency room, and surgical services. Perform invasive procedures and make independent clinical decisions.

Requirements:

  • Board Certification: Master's Degree (Required), RN - Registered Nurse - Ohio Board of Nursing Ohio
  • License Required: Current State of Ohio Nursing, and APRN license or Physician Assistant license. Must have a current RN/CNP or PA license and maintain this license from the Ohio Board of Nursing and Medical Board
  • DEA: Required
  • Certifications Preferred: ACLS/BLS
  • Certifications Required: Must have current certification and maintain certification from a national certifying body (ANCC, AANP, etc.). Must have graduated from an accredited CNP program or PA program. Must have CPR Certification endorsed by the American Heart Association. Acute Care Certification is required for those working in the critical care setting.
  • Minimum Experience Required: 1-2 years in critical care

Credentialing Timeframe: 90 Days
