Position Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • Provide care for 10-16 patients per day within an open ICU model, conducting consults.
  • Work collaboratively in a co-management model with surgical and neuro services.
  • Perform procedures including central line and arterial line placements.
  • Assist with moderate sedation, intubation, complex ventilator management, and sedation management.
  • Participate in code responses and work closely with the ICU team.
  • Float to other subspecialties (SICU, Neuro ICU, CVICU, MICU) based on census needs.
  • Ensure comprehensive patient care alongside a multidisciplinary team.

Support Structure:

  • Day: Attendings on staff.
  • Night: APP only with attending available at home and a critical care fellow available 24/7.
  • Additional attending physicians available to assist as needed.

Requirements:

  • Board Certification: ANCC or AACN certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
  • State License: Must have a valid California state license.
  • DEA: Required.
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENLS (Emergency Neurological Life Support).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred, with experience in multiple ICU subspecialties strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Proficiency in central and arterial line placements. Ability to recognize the need for intubation.
