Adelphi is seeking Nurse Practitioners (NP) or Physician Assistants (PA) to provide services at a correctional facility in Lompoc, California. The ideal candidates will perform independent assessments, provide diagnosis and treatment for patients among other responsibilities while ensuring adherence to standards of care and practice.

Requirements:
• Active unrestricted CA License
• BLS(AHA)
• ACLS
• Minimum 3 years of experience

Responsibilities:
• Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services for the adult in custody population.
• Take medical histories, examine patients, and order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays.
• Make a diagnosis, provide treatment plans and prescribe medications.
• Clinically manage injuries by suturing, splinting, and immobilizing.
• Attend to medical emergencies.
• Record progress notes, recommend clinically necessary outside consultation.
• Perform minor surgery utilizing local anesthesia during consultation visits.
• Work collaboratively with the staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning, instituting, evaluating and revising program plans.
• Assist in determining conditions, resources and policies essential to delivery of the health care services.
• Manage the daily operation of the clinic and conduct daily sick call.
• Secure health histories from the patient, record findings and provide clinical evaluations.
• Provide a wide range of emergency services in the absence of the physician.
• Any other duties as assigned.
