Schedule

• Scheduled Clinic Hours and Call (in house and beeper)
• Clinic: 8am-4:30pm
• Hospital: 7am - 4pm
• Telehealth: for bad weather days

Clinical Details

• Patient Floor Call, Inpatient hospital work, rounds, consults, clinic
• Cardiac Floors: 144 total beds but patients can be placed on any floor
• Trauma level 1
• PEDs level 1
• Will be required to supervise APPs
• Inpatient:
  • Nuclear Stress testing, Echo stress testing, Treadmill stress testing
  • Rounds: Cardiology patients (general, heart failure, Interventional & EP)
  • Medical & Procedural
  • Cardiology is consulting service only, patients are not admitted by Cardiology
  • Discharges: Work with Hospitalists to ensure Cardiology has a discharge plan communicated so Hospitalist can discharge upon their care plan is completed
  • ER Consults, Cardiac ICU
  • CTICU/CVICU: same as Cardiac ICU
  • Procedures or equipment:
    • Yes, but not in Cardiology: Chest tubes, Central lines, Intubations, Vents, Arterial Lines, Diagnostic Taps
  • Echo, ECMO
• Outpatient:
  • Patient census: 19 patients/day in clinic
  • Nuclear Stress testing, Echo stress testing, Treadmill stress testing
  • Post Op follow up: Post Procedure follow ups (Heart Failure, AMI, EP hospital discharge follow ups)

Requirements

• Board Certified
• Active MO License or IMLC
• ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS

Call

• 30 Minute Response Time
• In house & Beeper Call
• Patient floor call only
• 4-5 pt calls weekday/month & 1 weekend/month

Support Staff

• 20 RN's
• 18 MA's
• 10 NP/PA's
• APPs are not responsible for performing any cardiac testing on both the inpatient and outpatient sides, these tests are available for ordering
