Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Role Scope

The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) will work in an ambulatory setting. Patient management will include new patient consults, short- and long-term post-operative follow up, and coordination of patient care across multiple disciplines. In-office procedures will include skin and soft tissue mass excision and some complex wound care. This opportunity will require working in our main office in Meriden and multiple satellite offices potentially including North Haven, Cheshire, Southington and Plainville. On call coverage may be required in addition to covering post op follow up’s of emergency general surgery patients. Additional responsibilities will include assisting with system quality initiatives.

Shift: Monday through Friday day shift (8 hour shifts) or possible flexibility with 4 - 10-hour shifts.

Qualifications

Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master’s program preferred
Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut
Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an ambulatory Nurse Practitioner
Clinical experience in surgery, weight management, or nutritional services strongly preferred
