Job Description:

This position is accountable for the provision of patient care and other activities as permitted by licensure and defined within Credentialing and Privileging documentation (hospital), Credentialing and Scope of Practice (Medical Group), Consultation and Referral Plan (DOPL) or other similar documentation as appropriate. As part of that patient care, this position is accountable to: deliver optimal patient care through effective clinical practice; education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others; consultation with other healthcare providers; and maintain current knowledge regarding options for optimal patient care and outcomes.

This Advanced Practice Provider will care for patients primarily at our Layton Construction Workmed site in Eagle Mountain. As part of our extensive network of specialists, the APP will become experienced in occupational health matters such as workers compensation injury care, ensuring an appropriate continuum of care for the injured worker, and completing employment physicals and testing, such as DOT physicals.

Our WorkMed facilities provide walk-in service for industrial injuries that are not immediately life or health threatening. Minor trauma and repetitive strain injuries are examples of types of injuries seen in our clinics. We are the front door for the majority of patients with work-related health concerns, diagnosing and supporting them in getting the appropriate follow up care by referring out to other specialists as needed on a case by case basis.

Full time, the APP will work during regular clinic hours during the week. No weekend, call, or holiday requirements are associated with this position. However, some travel will be required and compensated if asked to fill in at other Workmed location across the state.

This position will be a part of the WorkMed Service line which is part of Intermountain Medical Group. Training, support, and coverage for the new position will be provided by the service line. The position will work closely with the service line medical director, APP director, service line director, and practice manager over this location.

Though previous urgent care, emergency medicine, or occupational medicine experience is preferred, new grad APPs should feel welcome to apply and will be considered for employment.
