JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Location: Boise, ID
• Service Setting: Acute Care Hospital
• Coverage Type: Scheduled + Required On-Call
• Coverage Period: August 11, 2025 – Ongoing
• Clinical Shift Schedule:
• 40 hours per week with varying shifts (8, 10, or 12-hour shifts)
• Potential to work a combination of a 24-hour and a 16-hour shift per month
• Overtime applies after 45 hours per week
• On-Call Shift Schedule:
• 1 full weekend call shift per month
• 2 weeknight call shifts per month
• Option to substitute 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday shift every 3 months in place of a call shift
• Call Type: Two call types available (C1 and C2)
• Call 1: Regular call
• Call 2: Last provider to be cut for the day (still receives evening call pay)
• If working Call 1, provider has the next day off; If Call 2 extends past midnight, the provider is off the following day (rare occurrence)
PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Case Mix:
• GYN, general surgery, ortho, spine, crani, plastics, lungs, healthy pediatrics, eye, GI, structural hearts, EP, Endo, Interventional radiology, MRI
• No burns, transplants, open heart, sick pediatrics, or OB cases
• Must be comfortable with Level II Trauma cases
FACILITY INFORMATION
• No. of Operating Rooms: 17 Main ORs, 7 DSCs, plus cath labs, endoscopy, and radiology
• Trauma Level: Level II
• EMR System: Epic
• Reason for Coverage: Continuous full-time locum support
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Credentialing Timeline: 30-45 days (if licensed); 90-120 days (if licensing is pending)
• Scrubs: Provided by the department
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Rate: TBD
• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered
REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• General Anesthesia:
• GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Spine, Crani, Plastics, Lungs, Pediatrics, GI, EP, Endo, Interventional Radiology, MRI
• No burns, transplants, open heart, sick pediatrics, or OB cases
• Must be comfortable with Level II Trauma cases
• Anesthesia Skills:
• Spinal Blocks (CRNAs do not perform their own Regional Anesthesia/Blocks)
• Occasionally perform arterial lines (not a requirement)
• No epidurals or central lines for locums
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active Idaho License (Willing to License Candidates)
• Board Certification: NBCRNA Required
• Certifications: Not specified
• DEA: Required
• CSR: Idaho CSR Required
• Experience: Minimum 1 year required
• Other Qualifications: Proficiency with Epic EMR preferred
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide anesthesia care across various specialties in a hospital setting
• Work under a supervision-based anesthesia model (4:1 supervision ratio)
• Perform spinal blocks and arterial lines as needed (no epidurals or central lines)
• Manage ventilation and assist with anesthesia-related procedures
• Ensure accurate documentation using Epic EMR
• Maintain compliance with facility protocols and patient safety standards
