A health services organization in New York City is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing Critical Care team on a Per Diem or Part-time basis.

About the Opportunity:

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Assignment Length: Ongoing
  • Shift: Per Diem or Part Time
  • Schedule: One to three 12-hour shifts per week (must be able to commit to at least 1 to 2)
  • Hours: 7am to 730pm or 7pm to 730am

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical exams, medical history, and symptoms
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, laboratory results, and responses to treatment
  • Develop individualized care plans based on patient needs, collaborating with doctors, specialists, and other healthcare providers
  • Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring correct dosage, timing, and technique
  • Continuously monitor patient status and report changes to the healthcare team
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including observations and interventions
  • Educate patients and families on health conditions, post-surgical care, recovery plans, lifestyle changes, and medication management
  • Follow infection prevention protocols, administer treatments in accordance with safety guidelines, and maintain a sterile environment, when required
  • Assist in preparing patients for discharge, provide follow-up care instructions, and ensure necessary community or outpatient resources are in place
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Nursing experience in a Hospital and/or Critical Care setting
  • Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • BLS certification
  • Ability to use medical technology and electronic health records (EHR) systems proficiently
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
