Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (4x 10-hour shifts per week)
Job Description:
We are seeking a Board-Certified CRNA locum tenens in Central PA. This locum tenens position offers the flexibility of either full-time or part-time work, with a minimum commitment of 72 hours per month (equivalent to 6 shifts of 12 hours, 7 shifts of 10 hours, or 9 shifts of 8 hours). The CRNA will primarily provide elective surgical coverage across 11 locations, supporting the main operating room (OR), surgery center, and labor & delivery (L&D).
Key Responsibilities:
- Elective Surgical Coverage: Provide anesthesia services in main OR, surgery center, and labor & delivery (L&D), with an estimated breakdown of:
- 80% in main OR,
- 15% in surgery center,
- 5% in L&D.
- Assist with Elective Surgeries: Perform anesthesia for bread and butter procedures, including spinals, airway management, MAC (Monitored Anesthesia Care), and general anesthesia (GA).
- Support for Overflow and Emergencies: Provide anesthesia support for emergent and overflow cases, including ICU intubations and medically directed C-sections.
- Work as Part of a Team: Collaborate with other anesthesia providers (including CRNAs, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams) to ensure patient safety and optimal care.
- Documentation and Charting: Utilize Epic EMR system for documentation of patient care.
Qualifications:
- Board Certification as a CRNA.
- Active Pennsylvania State License required.
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Minimum Experience: No minimum required; however, obstetrics experience is preferred due to the L&D responsibilities.
- DEA Certification not required.
- Experience in Anesthesiology: Experience with a variety of cases, including spinals, airway management, MAC, and general anesthesia.
- Must be available to work a minimum of 72 hours per month (or equivalent shift schedule).
Facility Overview:
- Trauma Level: III
- # of Beds: 100% medical supervision across the facility.
- EMR System: Epic.
- Patient Demographics: Primarily adult patients (90% of cases), with 10% pediatric cases.
- Typical Cases: Bread and butter outpatient surgeries, ICU intubations, medically directed C-sections.
- Support Staff: Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of anesthesiologists, CRNAs, nurses, and surgical staff.
- Credentialing: Full privileges typically take 90 days; temporary privileges can be granted within 2-3 weeks.
