Shift Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM or 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • 8-16 shifts per month

Compensation:

  • Rate: $225/hr

Job Description:

Eastern PA hospital seeking Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) for a locum tenens position to help cover for turnover vacancies. The CRNAs will be responsible for providing anesthesia care across various specialties, including orthopedics, gynecology, general surgery, plastic surgery, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Shift Duties: Begin shifts at 6:30 AM, with patients in the room by 7:25 AM. Break times (morning, lunch) will be provided based on staffing and procedure flow.
  • Record Keeping: Document all anesthesia-related activities in Epic EMR, ensuring patient safety and compliance with hospital protocols.
  • Teamwork: Providers will work under medical direction and not solo, supporting a team-based approach to patient care.

Required Qualifications:

  • Certifications:
    • CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of anesthesia experience.
  • State License: Current, active Pennsylvania state CRNA license required.
  • Availability: Must commit to a minimum of one shift per week.
  • EMR: Familiarity with Epic EMR system preferred.

Job Details:

  • Adult Patient Care: 90% of cases will be adult patients, including those undergoing orthopedic, general surgery, and other routine procedures.
  • Pediatric Care: 10% of cases will involve pediatric patients (typically over age 5).
  • Typical Cases Include:
    • Orthopedics (joints, podiatry)
    • General Surgery
    • Gynecology
    • Plastic Surgery
    • Gastrointestinal (GI) Endoscopy
    • Vascular Surgery
    • Obstetrics (OB)
    • Occasional cases in back surgery, eye surgery, cystoscopy, dental, and pediatric procedures.
    • No high-risk cases, such as craniotomies, trauma, or heart surgery.
  • Work Environment: Medically directed anesthesia care. Providers will not be working solo and will have support from a medical team.

Additional Information:

  • Credentialing Time: 60 days for credentialing.
