TEMPORARY STAFF CLASSIFICATIONS
Temporary personnel must consist of employees of the following classifications:
  • Social Worker I & II
TEMPORARY STAFF REQUIREMENTS
  • Temporary Staff previously employed by Alabama Department of Human Resources must have been separated from Alabama Department of Human Resources for a period of at least two years.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university majoring in Social Work is required for all temporary staff.
  • Licensure is required for all Temporary Staff in this position.
  • Temporary staff must complete Orientation provided by Alabama State Department of Human Resources and local county office.
  • Temporary staff must sign a non-disclosure agreement to protect the confidentiality of information to which they may be exposed. Failure to abide by non-disclosure statement will be deemed grounds to terminate the service of any temporary contract employee.
  • Temporary staff will report to assigned identified county management staff to be dispatched in personally owned vehicles per State Department of Human Resources processes and policies. Mileage will be reimbursed at the rate established by the State of Alabama.
  • Temporary staff are required to have a Valid Driver’s license and Current Vehicle Insurance.
  • Temporary staff will support the identified counties with case management responsibilities to include in-home visits, initial assessments, ongoing safety and risk assessments, investigations of allegations of abuse and neglect, implementation of safety plans, documentation of case management activities, preparation of professional court reports, providing professional recommendations in court proceedings, etc.
  • Temporary staff must have the ability to work independently, accept constructive feedback, be solution focused, organized, reliable, punctual, and able to articulate and document.
  • Temporary staff will be required to wear Department provided picture identification. Identification must be always visible while on duty.
  • Temporary staff will be required to complete a timesheet for each day of work with the Department. The timesheet must be signed by the employee and a DHR supervisor at the end of the pay period. All timesheets must be submitted with invoices.
  • Temporary staff will be required to complete day sheets for each day of work with the Department. If on-call is worked, the temporary worker must complete the on-call sheet to document work performed.
  • Temporary staff will follow all rules, policies, and procedures outlined by the Department of Human Resources.
