Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join a well-established, fast-paced hospital for a 13-week contract starting October 7, 2024. The position offers a competitive hourly rate of up to $245/hour and full licensing support for the State of Pennsylvania.

This opportunity is perfect for CRNAs with a broad skill set, including experience in general anesthesia, OB, vascular, neuro, and other specialties. The CRNA will work alongside a supportive team of anesthesiologists and other CRNAs in a collaborative hospital environment.

Shift Schedule:

  • Work Week: Monday to Friday
  • Shifts: 5 x 8-hour shifts per week
  • Start Time: 6:30 AM report, 6:45-7:00 AM first procedure

Job Responsibilities:

  • Administer anesthesia for a variety of procedures across multiple specialties including General Surgery, ENT, GYN, OB, Plastics, Endo, Urology, Ortho, Vascular, Cardiothoracic, and Neuro.
  • Collaborate with a team of 4 anesthesiologists and 15-18 CRNAs daily.
  • Manage an average of 40 anesthesia cases per day (across 11 ORs, 2 CVORs, GI, Bronch, Cath Lab, OB).
  • Cover 1 room at a time while anesthesiologists may cover up to 4 rooms.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of patients, monitor their status throughout procedures, and adjust anesthesia as necessary.
  • Maintain high standards of patient care and adhere to hospital policies and protocols.

Hospital and Practice Setting:

  • Hospital Type: Level II Trauma Center
  • Bed Size: 272 beds
  • Department Overview: Medical direction for 11 ORs (8 running daily), 2 CVORs, and offsite locations including GI, Bronch, Cath Lab, and OB.
  • EMR System: Cerner

Patient Population:

  • Primarily adult patients, with pediatric experience preferred but not required.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certification: CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist)
  • State License: Current CRNA license in the state of Pennsylvania or ability to obtain it.
  • DEA Certification: Required
  • Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of CRNA experience
  • Additional Skills: Expertise in general, ENT, GYN, OB, plastics, endo, urology, ortho, vascular, cardiothoracic, and neuro anesthesia. Experience in vascular, neuro, and thoracic is preferred; OB is optional.

  • Estimated 3-4 weeks for credentialing process.
