Hello fellow CRNAs,

I am Al Imbody, the Associate Chief Anesthetist Officer for Sound Anesthesia’s Blue Region. Sound Anesthesia seeks a dynamic and experienced Chief Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to lead our Research Medical Center anesthesia team. As a critical member of our collaborative CRNA / Anesthesiologist leadership team, the Chief CRNA will oversee the department’s daily operations, ensure the highest standards of patient care, and foster an environment of excellence in clinical practice and teamwork.

Practice
  • Provide clinical leadership and administrative oversight for the CRNA team.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and accreditation standards.
  • Develop and implement protocols to maintain best practices in anesthesia care.
  • Mentor, train, and evaluate CRNAs, ensuring continuous professional development and adherence to evidence-based practices.
  • Monitor department performance, including patient outcomes, quality measures, and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in recruitment, retention, and performance evaluations of CRNA staff.
  • Lead initiatives in patient safety, quality improvement, and staff engagement.
  • Manage department scheduling, ensuring optimal staff coverage for surgical and non-surgical anesthesia services.
  • Stay current on advancements in anesthesia practices and lead continuing education efforts for the team.
Qualifications
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nurse Anesthesia from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a CRNA in Missouri.
  • Minimum of six years of experience as a practicing CRNA, with at least three years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong clinical skills with demonstrated expertise in various anesthesia techniques, including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, patient safety, and excellence in anesthesia care.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits
  • $233,000 plus Chief Stipend.
