Supportive Care and Palliative Medicine Per Diem Nurse Practitioner

UPMC in Central PA — a growing, 7 hospital, multisite health care system — is seeking a certified registered nurse practitioner to join the Supportive Care and Palliative Medicine program to provide inpatient and outpatient palliative medicine to patients with serious, chronic illness at Harrisburg Hospital, Community Osteopathic Hospital and West Shore Hospital, and soon to be expanding to our other regional hospitals.


Opportunity:

  • Join a successful program including 4 physicians and 4 certified nurse practitioners who provide pain and non-pain symptom management and advanced palliative care for patients as they receive care from their primary or specialist team
  • Actively identify opportunities to improve the patient and family care experience
  • Improve the effectiveness of resources as used in management of symptoms, complex chronic medical and social issues
  • Flexible schedule, full-time position
  • Teaching opportunities with IM residents, as well as nursing and CRNP students
  • Shared call 1:7


Professional Skills:

  • Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Masters of Science in Nursing and ANA certification desirable
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients
  • Team oriented with ability to provide personalized patient care and demonstrate clinical outcomes
