Job Summary

We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) to join our team at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. The ideal candidates will have at least a master’s degree in nursing and will be responsible for providing and coordinating comprehensive clinical anesthesiology services. This role includes preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care for a variety of surgical procedures.

Job Responsibilities

Clinical Anesthesiology Services: Provide comprehensive anesthesiology services for general surgery, orthopedics (including joint replacement), plastic surgery, ENT, urology, podiatry, minor vascular surgery, gynecology, endoscopy, dental/oral surgery, and ophthalmology.
Coverage and Patient Care: Provide primary coverage for patients in the surgical intensive care unit, short stay unit, acute and chronic pain management services, and emergency airway management.
Diagnostic Services: Perform diagnostic transesophageal echocardiography for medical and surgical patients.
Consultative Services: Provide bedside consultative services for non-ambulatory patients and clinic consults for ambulatory patients.
Medication Administration: Adhere to established medication policies and procedures, ensuring no sample medications are provided to patients.
Discharge Education: Provide thorough discharge education and follow-up instructions coordinated with the next care setting for all anesthesiology clinical or surgical patients.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements: Minimum of a master’s degree in nursing with CRNA certification.
Licensure: Current and valid certification as a CRNA.
Experience: Relevant experience in clinical anesthesiology, including a variety of surgical procedures.
Compliance: Knowledge of and adherence to established medication policies, procedures, and patient safety standards.

Working Hours

Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday

Technical Proficiency: Proficient in administering anesthesia for various types of surgeries and managing pain.
Clinical Skills: Strong capability in preoperative assessment, intraoperative management, and postoperative care.
Diagnostic Expertise: Skilled in diagnostic transesophageal echocardiography and emergency airway management.
Patient Management: Ability to provide comprehensive care, including acute and chronic pain management.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Education and Counseling: Ability to provide effective discharge education and follow-up instructions to patients.
Consultative Abilities: Competence in providing consultative services both at the bedside and in clinic settings.
