WellCraft Health PLLC
The Future of Family Medicine Begins at WellCraft Health
We contract directly with our private pay patients and business clients. We do not contract with Medicare, Medicaid, or any health insurance network. Consequently, we process no insurance claims, have no denials of payment, our pricing structure is our own, we have better relationships with our patients and within our community, AND our administrative overhead is significantly less.
Doctors are encouraged to use their best professional judgement and advocate for the well being of our patients. Our physician partners decide company policy and operations and have an equity interest in the continuing success of WellCraft Health. Wellcraft Health represents the value of "old school" medicine, loved by our patients, where they benefit from MORE professional time & attention, BETTER medical care, and FASTER, more responsive service !
If you desire more professional freedom, less stress, better patient relations, and greater earnings, then you will want to become a prospective family physician partner.
If you want escape high pressure, assembly line medical care, production quotas, corporate mandates, high cost living, high taxes, traffic congestion, and the uncertainties of insurance dominated medical economics, AND enjoy being a doctor again, then you may want to consider living on or near the beautiful Lake Gaston and the tranquility of the surrounding wooded area.

Company Information
WellCraft Health offers it's patients MORE timely appointments, BETTER medical care, and FASTER, more responsive service.
As a small, privately owned primary care medical practice, WellCraft Health contracts directly with our patients and business clientele. Our patients are not wealthy. They are every day working people - nurses, teachers, police officers, farmers, small business owners, restaurant workers, factory and lumber mill workers, office staff, and managers. Our patients are every day, good hearted, hard working individuals and families who value having a real doctor on their side, having an advisor, confidant, and friend. We focus on helping solve their medical problems, help them navigate the ever more complicated medical system, and strongly advocate for our patients when their health insurance denies them coverage for their treatment or medication.
The health insurance industry has no economic or administrative power over WellCraft Health.
Insurance driven medical care, with its emphasis on coding, high administrative overhead, denials, and difficulties getting paid, has had a seriously adverse impact on the medical profession. Long gone are the days where you develop long standing relationships with your patients. Instead, medical staff are encouraged to process as many people as possible, as efficiently as possible. Medical work has increasingly become algorithmic, check box, treat 'em and street 'em, factory style work. Primary care, and the role of primary care physicians in particular, have been devalued. As a "provider", a primary care physician is now an interchangeable part of the medical machine, and is largely indestinguishable from physicians assistants and nurse practitioners. Like the movie "Ground Hog Day", every day tends to become a replicate of the day before. Many physicians have become discouraged in their profession.
Welcome Home to WellCraft Health.
Our patients receive the professional time and attention they need, and they enjoy coming to our office. Dr Carol Rupe has never been happier with her profession and career choice. Our patients are like long time friends, sharing stories, laughs, and sorrows. Every day is a blessing. Not every day is easy, but we can readily see our impact on the lives of others, and within our community. WellCraft Health is "old school" medicine. Personal and private. Independent, and free of the handcuffs imposed by Medicare, Medicaid, and health insurance networks. With significantly lower administrative overhead and staffing requirements, our physicians can anticipate better than average earnings by demonstrating their appreciation of the uniqueness of each of our patients, and their commitment to the welfare of our patients who place their trust in WellCraft Health.

Company History
WellCraft Health was a startup during the very difficult "covid" years and is at max capacity. Presently, we only have a single physician. We are seeking ONE or TWO prospective Family Physician Partners to help guide and grow the next evolutionary stage of WellCraft Health. Presently, we have a single physician, Dr. Carol Rupe.
Dr. Carol Rupe graduated from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana and received her doctorate from Georgetown Medical School, Washington, DC. Dr Rupe is a former United States Air Force medical officer and family practice residency instructor at Andrews Air Force Base in Suitland, Maryland.
After her ten years in the USAF, Dr Rupe founded three prior medical businesses in Charlotte, NC. Two of the businesses were traditional, insurance driven medical practices. The first business was a traditional, insurance driven family medical practice, in a clinical setting, that had employed four nurse practitioners or physician assistants. The second business contracted for direct medical care of residents at four nursing homes, two assisted living centers, and a home health agency. Her third business established Dr. Rupe as a national expert in family medicine, women's health, and senior health.
It was was our twelve years of constant struggle with the health insurance industry and competing against the two largest hospital systems in North Carolina at nearly impossible odds, that aided the conceptual development of WellCraft Health.
Dr Carol Rupe was involved in a terrible auto accident in 2015. She was in the ICU for more than 90 days and was partially paralyzed. Dr Rupe had to close her clinical and long term care medical businesses and safely transfer her patients to other Charlotte area medical practices. But she was blessed and recovered. She wanted to share her blessings with others and go where family physicians are most needed: rural North Carolina. That decision brought her to the Lake Gaston area, working for a hospital system in Roanoke Rapids.
WellCraft Health was founded during the covid pandemic in 2020 and provided prompt medical care when others would not, or could not. We were told by a former hospital board member that our medical care model was not feasible and could not survive. The board member was wrong. We survived - and thrived. WellCraft Health is presently at capacity, and we are looking for prospective family physician partners to help write the next chapter in the history of WellCraft Health.
