We treat over 185,000 patients in our eight emergency rooms and deliver more than 4,000 babies and provide the highest level of care for those who are at risk.  We treat more heart attacks than any other hospital in the state and over 9,000 heart patients each year.
We are the region's only certified comprehensive cancer center, the region's most comprehensive care for kids and the region's only Joint Commission certified stroke center.
Our employed medical group is one of the largest in the state with over 300 physicians and advanced practice providers in more than 30 locations.
Jackson Madison County General Hospital has an on-site LTACH, on-site LeBonheur Children's Hospital, and we are partnered with Encompass Health that offers a 48 bed in-patient rehabilitation center in Jackson, TN.

West Tennessee Healthcare is a system of hospitals, clinics, and ancillary services that provides care to a 19 county service area with over 550,000 covered lives. We have 8 hospitals in the West TN region with our flagship 642 bed Jackson Madison County General Hospital located right in the center in Jackson, TN. This hospital is the only tertiary care facility outside of Memphis and Nashville.

Company History

Established in 1950 we have grown to one of the largest public, not-for-profit healthcare systems in the nation.
The District, known as West Tennessee Healthcare, has now grown into a comprehensive health system operating hospitals and clinics, as well as providing other healthcare services, and now employs over 7,000 people throughout the region.
A Board of Trustees Appointed by the City of Jackson and Madison County is charged with the oversight of West Tennessee Healthcare. The system is completely self-supporting and does not operate on local tax revenues.
