Advanced Practice Provider - Plastic Surgery

Full-Time Plastic Surgery APP (ARNP or PA) Opportunity with a busy practice in Gig Harbor. The APP will provide services and contribute to the design and delivery of high quality, cost effective, values-based patient care for our patients under the supervision of a Plastic Surgeon and Medical Director.

Candidates should be interested in working in the clinic, but may have some opportunity for OR training depending on experience. Some practice call duties are required; call for practice patients is 1 week rotation with other providers. This position involves working with a plastic surgeon who has a special interest in breast reconstructive surgery, and dedicates a significant portion of his practice to breast reconstruction for patients undergoing treatment from breast cancer. We are looking for a candidate who is ready to work in a team-based environment, and provide exceptional patient care and support. Candidates should be willing and able to work with a broad group of diverse patients from varied backgrounds.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform physical examinations, record medical histories, and formulate accurate diagnoses under physicians and Medical Director’s supervision. Review patient records.
  • Consult with physician(s) when warranted to assess patient condition and treatment.
  • Ensure that medical charts, patient billing and related administrative duties completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that same day care is available to patients with acute illness or minor injuries.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinic policies and procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of medical procedures and treatment, including participating in professional development activities and maintaining professional affiliations.
  • Attends required meetings and participates in committees as assigned.
  • Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
  • Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
  • Provides patient education. Instructs patients and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
  • Perform similar and incidental duties as assigned and complete them in a timely manner.
  • Uses Universal Precautions including personal protective equipment for anticipated contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred (ARNP or PA-C)
  • Completion of an accredited two (2) year physician's assistant program required. Completion of an accredited ARNP program required.

Experience:

  • 2 years of Advanced Practice Provider experience required.

Required License/Certification:

  • Washington State License.
  • National certification required.
  • BLS/CPR certification.

Pay Range
$60.82 - $69.07 /hour
